"Data Privacy Violation from an Agent (TJ)

I submitted a request for quotes from State Farm's website and received automated emails back from Chuck McFarland's Agency to my email address with links to view my quote. Later, I receive a forwarded email from my ex-boyfriend I lived with over 4 years ago that he was sent my quotes. Somehow, TJ emailed the quotes to my ex. Perhaps this was their CRM/third-party data source (LexisNexis) associating our identities, but TJ had the responsibility to verify that this was correct prior to sending the email, especially given that my ex's email address did not match the email address I submitted with the quote. When I called TJ to inquire how this could have happened, he said that my ex's email is what was entered in the quote request, which was blatantly false. I verified my autofill settings on the browser I use and my ex's email was not listed, and I certainly did not manually enter it.

This was a breach of privacy, because the quotes contained personal data like my current address and vehicle that I drive.

I'm disappointed in how this was handled, and I hope that this Agency takes client privacy seriously in the future."
